Teaching Theaters & Live Streaming Events

Learning Spaces manages support for the three Teaching Theaters on campus as well as hosting and scheduling group events in the Centennial and Alkek Teaching Theaters. The LBJ Student Center handles events in the LBJ Teaching Theater. Urgent support issues for the Teaching Theaters should be directed to the ITAC Call Center.

LBJ Student Center Teaching Theater Events

Any group events to be held in the LBJ Student Center Teaching Theater must be reserved and scheduled through the LBJ Student Center staff. You can find the necessary information and forms on the LBJ Student Center's Conference Services page.

Group event reservation information (Alkek and Centennial):

  • Reservation requests are handled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Academic classes or events take priority in the event of a scheduling conflict.
  • Reservation requests should be made 14 - 60 days prior to the event date.
  • Reservation requests made more than 60 days in advance cannot be scheduled.
  • Requests made less than 14 days prior to the event are subject to a $25 rush fee.
  • Payment can be made via University Cost/Fund number, check, or cash (no credit cards).
  • A Facility-Use Agreement Request must be completed prior to your reservation request.

Live streaming services

Learning Spaces assists with Live Streaming for events at a cost of $80/hour and a $50 equipment rental fee (per event). You will need:

  • An active network port (required)
  • Account on a streaming platform

If desired, you can Submit an Event Live Steam Request to set up a YouTube account (recommended) for your live stream.
