How to Access Texas State RemoteApps from a Mac Computer

  1. Go to  RemoteApps.
  2. Select Click Here to Download VMware Desktop Client.

  2. Click Go To Downloads under VMware Horizon Client for Mac.

  2. Click Download Now.

  2. Run the executable downloaded with the name of Vmware-Horizon-Client.exe.

  2. Once run, you will be prompted to install the application.

  1. Double-click on VMware Horizon Client.pkg.

  1. Follow the instructions to install VMWare Horizon.

  1. Open the VMWare Horizon client

  1. You will be prompted to add a server. Add https://remote.txstate.edu

  1. Select Connect.
  2. Your browser will open to this

  1. Please note, you will be prompted to allow keystrokes on your Mac device. Please allow access to VMWare under Privacy & Security > Input Monitoring.

  1. A browser screen will open, and you will be prompted to log in with your NetID and password.

  1. Once you have logged in with your NetID and Duo authentication, you will be asked to open the  VMWare Horizon Client, press Allow.

  1. You may be prompted to allow accessibility settings on your Mac device.  Please allow access to VMWare under Privacy & Security > Accessibility.

  1. You will be prompted to accept an elevated permission prompt. If you agree to the license terms and privacy agreement, select Agree & Install

 

  1. Click on the application you wish to launch
