Call Forwarding on Nortel and Avaya Phones

Setting up a Forward

NOTES:

  • The Nortel or Avaya brand is displayed at the top of the phone. The phones are silver in color.
  • If you see the Avaya brand but your phone is all black in color and your phone is part of an ACD system (e.g., a call center), you cannot forward calls to another number.
  • If you do not see the Avaya or Nortel brand, use the Analog phone instructions.
  • If you are unsure or have questions, contact the IT Assistance Center.

These steps must be completed directly from your office phone:

  1. With the phone handset down on the phone, press the button next to Forward.
  2. Depending on where you are forwarding to, follow these steps:
    • For San Marcos numbers, dial 9 512 ### ####, and press Forward again.
    • For all other numbers, dial 9 1 ### ### #### and press Forward again.
  3. From another line, call your office line to make sure the forward is working.

Turning a Forward Off

On a Nortel or Avaya phone, press the button next to Forward, and press Cancel.
